RESEARCH QUESTION:

The benefits of Alternative Medicine in breast Cancer

In all over the world you can hear cases of all kind of cancers. This disease is increasing year with year.  Breast cancer NOT only affects women but, also men. The early detection and treatment can help us to prevent and prolonged our lives.  More and more people, especially those with serious illnesses such as breast cancer, are turning to complementary and alternative medicine. Only about 10% of breast cancer is linked to heredity and genes, the majority is associated with lifestyle and environmental factors. I choose this topic because I want to know more about the complementary and alternative medicine and because I’m concern about the use of drugs, chemotherapy and other treatments to control cancer.  I think that nature gives us the necessary supplements to maintain our body and mind healthful, just we need to combine alternative medicine (herbs), nutrition, exercise, mind, and body to have a better lifestyle.

Dr. Balch is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. In addition to his work he is a part-time clinical and academic oncologist at Johns Hopkins Medical Center as a Professor in the Department of Surgery and the Oncology Center. Here in this web site you can find different information related to all kinds of cancer, also you can submit a question related to any cancer and the experts will answer your question.  I think this is a good web site because is focuses to all people.  For me it was easy to surf in this web, I found many links related to, where I can find  cancer centers and cooperative groups, government agencies, and foreign language resources.

This web page is linked to others web pages that give information of alternative, complementary, innovative therapies.  For example the Alternative Health News Online, The Alternative Medicine Home Page, The American Botanical Council , The Annie Appleseed Project, MD Anderson Complementary/Integrative Medicine, Medical Herbalism, National Center for Alternative and Complementary Medicine (NCCAM).  All of this pages I think there are good because they show you different information related to Alternative Medicine in each different field.
