For Summer 2007, our lovely and talented intern is Rachel Perey, who is working with both of KCSMs producers. Rachel is playing a major role in the development and promotion of a film festival for young directors.

A crew from BCST 320 Field Production entered their class project in the California Community Colleges Satellite Network festival and won 4th place! Their entry was an excellent :30 TV spot for our fantastic broadcast program! Congratuations to Rachel Perey, Alex Andal, Leo Medrano, and Tomomi Kamura! This spot is also airing on KCSM TV PBS!

Student Alexis Madayag is working on a documentary about turntablism and the development of new music. He also shot and edited a great looking music video.

Three CSM Broadcast & Electronic Media students assisted KCSM Producer Kaveh Nikpour in creating his PBS documentary “Railroad In America; Is the future on track?” which highlights the importance of the rail industry in California’s history.

Kaveh’s talented student assistants were Christina Bazan, Thomas Iu, and Christopher Knox. Besides the their railroad duties, each of these students has made significant contributions to a variety of KCSM productions during their internship.
