Lemna is a floating plant

Each frond has one root. There are eight fronts in this thallus.

Sample data are shown to the right. Two populations of Lemna minor were grown under different conditions.

The arithmetic plot is shown to illustrate why population data are plotted on a semi-log graph. Notice that graph of log numbers shows a constant increase in the population that is missed in the arithmetic graph.
