(1) Read "The Predicament of Filipinos in the United States" by E. San Juan (pp. 138-144 in Course Reader).
(2) Write a 1- to 2-page (typed, double-spaced) summary and response paper to the article.

 

SUMMARY: Using evidence from the text (quoting accurately and citing page numbers), identify and summarize the key points of San Juan's argument: What are the reasons for the "continuing 'invisibility' or 'forgottenness' of the Filipinos in the United States"? What does he suggest that the Filipino community do to address these issues?

RESPONSE: Do you agree with his ideas? Why or why not?
