Total Points
Bonus In the WileyPLUS Gradebook you will see your Raw Score. The
Raw Score is used to calculate your Total Points Bonus. I will refer to the
Raw Score as Total Points because Total Points is a better descriptor. Total Points includes all work you have completed in
WileyPLUS: exams, quizzes, homework, and extra credit assignments. Every WileyPLUS assignment you
complete will increase your Total Points. When you complete required work such
as homework, quizzes, and exams you benefit twice: the required assignments
are part of your Weighted Score, and the required assignments increase your Total
Points. In addition, there are three
types of extra credit assignments which will increase your Total Points: Practice
assignments, Exam Review assignments, and Practice Exams. Earn 7,000 Total Points to earn maximum Total Points Bonus There are over 8,500 Total Points available. Total Points are
earned as follows: · Required assignments: Homework, Quizzes, Exams; 100 points each · Extra credit assignments: Practice, Exam Review, Practice Exams; 100 points each When your Total Points reaches 7,000 or higher I will raise your Weighted Score by 10%, which is
one letter grade. This benefit will be prorated. For example, if you earn 3,500 Total
Points I will raise your grade 5%. The maximum bonus possible is 10%. To reach the goal of Total Points of 7,000 you must complete
extra credit assignments. How extra credit points will increase your grade Each extra credit point earned will increase your Total
Points (Raw Score), which is used to calculate your Total Points Bonus. When
completing extra credit assignments only the number of points earned is
important – the percentage grade on the assignment is not used in any
way. For example, if a student
earns 45 out of 100 points on an extra credit assignment the Total Points will
go up by 45 which will increase the Total Points Bonus. Extra credit assignments are not
included in the Weighted Score, so earning 45% on the extra credit assignment
will not lower your grade point average. Due date The extra credit assignments do not have a late penalty,
and they will receive full credit as long as they are completed before the
student starts the final exam. The extra credit assignments have a due date,
but the due date is immaterial because there is no late penalty. No extra
credit points may be earned after the student has started the final exam. Sample calculation In the example below the student has earned 1,834.55 Total
Points.
