Using WileyPLUS to complete quizzes and exams

You will use WileyPLUS to complete your quizzes and exams. Therefore it is important that you understand how WileyPLUS works so you can complete your work accurately and efficiently.

The WileyPLUS quiz and exam experience is similar to the WileyPLUS algorithmic homework experience. To read the instructions for algorithmic assignments click here. Be sure that you understand these instructions before proceeding.

The following are the additional features you will find in the WileyPLUS quiz or exam:

· You are allowed three attempts at each question.

· When you click Submit Answer WileyPLUS will NOT change the numbers in the question. You have three attempts to solve each box in the question using the same numbers. You will NOT Repeat Question with New Values.

· When you click Submit Answer WileyPLUS will show you which parts of your answer are correct and which parts are wrong. Correct answer boxes are highlighted in green and you cannot change the number; incorrect boxes are highlighted in white and you can change the answer.

· After you change an answer you must click Submit Answer again or your revised answer will not be graded.

· If you wish to move to another question without submitting your answer you must click Save for later. If you do not click Save for later your work will be lost.

· WileyPLUS grades quizzes and exams by the question; you do not submit the entire quiz or exam, you submit individual questions. After you have submitted all questions you are done.

· At any time during the quiz or exam you may click Review Score in the left column.  The Review Score page displays the number of points you have earned and the number of attempts remaining on each question. You should check this page frequently.

· The exam will be timed. You will find a Timer button in the left margin near the top of the screen. The Timer button is a toggle switch. Click the Timer button to show the time remaining and click the Timer button again to hide the time remaining.

Warning!

If you do not click Submit Answer WileyPLUS does NOT see your entries. Therefore if the time is near the end you should click Submit Answer to get credit for the work you have done even though you have not completed the problem.  In effect, you must use one of your three attempts in order to make sure the work you have done is counted.  You can then keep working, but be sure to click Submit Answer again before the Timer runs out.

If the Timer runs out before you click Submit on a problem you will not get credit for the work you entered.
