In your Journal, write a one (or two) paragraph response to each of these questions:
- What concerns about group tutoring might students have before beginning it?
- From your personal experience, identify three teaching characteristics of instructors who are
good at conducting class discussions and explain how those characteristics contribute to success.
- How will you feel if one students in your group does poorly in the course for which you are
tutoring him or her while all the others do well?
- How will you approach the group tutoring situation in which one member of the group is
woefully underprepared or unable to do college work and therefore slows the entire group's
progress?
- How will you approach the group tutoring situation in which one member of the group is
disruptive (eg: tardy, aggressive, unprepared) to the point of causing dissention among the
students in the group?
