Group Demo

On April 16th you will be randomly put into groups of four. Each group will be responsible for creating and teaching a 7-10 min section of the class on 5/19 or 5/21.

Teaching Sections:

• Warm-up & Footwork
• Abdominal Work
• Hip Work, Spinal Articulation, and stretches
• Full Body Integration, and appropriate stretches
• Arm work and leg work
• Lateral Flexion and Back Extension.

The group will be graded on:

• Presentation and preparation - Are you prepared, do you have your exercises memorized, is the presentation organized?
• Exercise selection and sequencing- Are your exercises appropriate for your section? Does the sequence flow?
• Anatomy- Do you know the muscles your exercises is working?
• Ability to convey the Ten Moment Principles- Are you able to teach and correct breathing, alignment, creating flow etc..
• Staying within your time (10 min max)!

FAQ

Q. Do we all have to teach?

A. No. If one person in your group is comfortable teaching she/he can "lead" the entire section. The other group members must correct, and oversee the execution of the rest of the class. The group will be graded as a whole regardless of who teaches each section.

Q. Do we have to pick the exercises on our own?

A. Yes, the group must pick exercises that are appropriate for the section assigned to them.

Q. Can we teach a new exercise?

A. YES! Feel free to challenge the class with a new exercise. Be sure it is appropriate for your section.

Q. What if one of our group member does show up to the demo?

A. That member only will receive an F for the demo. The group will not be punished for one persons' irresponsibility.

Q. What if one group member is "slack' in"

A. The group must email me 48 hours before the demo. I will assign that group member to do a demo by themselves.
