This course offers an in
depth, hands on practical learning experience within the sports
medicine program. Students assist in injury prevention, emergency
care, rehabilitation and taping and bracing for varsity sthletes
under the supervision of the certified athletic trainer. Clinical
hoiurs are designed to assist in developing skills required for
students majoring in allied helath care professions coaching and
for NATA competencies.
Hours by arrangement, Variable units ( 4 hours per week = 1 unit)
Recommended that student complete minimum 6-8 hours per week .
Students
interested in medicine, athletic training, physical therapy, massage
therapy or other related allied health care professions are candidates
for PE211, PE212, PE213, and PE214. Physical education majors, coaches, athletes,
school nurses and/or parents of children participating in youth
sports may also benefit by taking these classes.

Corresponds to PE211, PE212, PE213, and PE214 lectures & labs, depending on semester.

that are in season and injuries that are sustained by athletes in
respective sports
In
this class you're expected to:
Complete competencies related to sports medicine classes.
Assist Certified Athletic Trainer in the Athletic Treatment Center
and at competition sites in providing treatment of injured athletes.
