For example, you’ve done a search on the InfoTrac OneFile and found an article in a periodical called The Humanist. You don’t know anything about this publication, so you decide to find out more about it by going to its Web site.

  • Click here to go to Web site for The Humanist.
    http://www.thehumanist.org/
  • Scan the home page for The Humanist to get a general impression of this publication.
  • Click on “About Us” and read the first 3 paragraphs.

Does this Web site tell you whether or not The Humanist is a peer-reviewed publication?
(HINT: Click on "Write for Us" and notice the "facts" it tells potential authors to be aware of.)

(HINT: You may find it helpful to go to the Web site for the publisher of The Humanist. A link is provided at The Humanist Web site.)
21) Based on what you now know about The Humanist, what type of periodical is it? (choose from the list of 5 types given above)
