Finding Which Libraries
Carry a Periodical Title

To check for periodicals available at Skyline College Library, link to the
Skyline College Library Periodicals List
(Skyline periodicals holdings are also included in the Melvyl Periodicals database.)

To check for periodicals available at all academic and public libraries in the Bay Area,
Link to the
Melvyl library system (http://www.melvyl.ucop.edu/), then follow the directions below:

  • From the Melvyl "Choose a Database" scrollbar, select "Periodicals Titles"
  • Click on "Titles" button
  • Enter the full periodical title in the "Title" entry box
  • Click on the "Complete title" button under the "Title" entry box
  • From the "Location" scrollbar, scroll down to select "Greater Bay Area"
  • Click the "Submit Search" button
  • Click the "Display" button
  • Scroll down to see list of libraries and holdings dates

To check for education-related journal titles, link to the SMERC Library Periodicals List. The SMERC Library is located at the County Office of Education in Redwood City. (SMERC periodicals holdings are also included in the Melvyl Periodicals database.)

To check just for periodicals available at San Francisco State University Library:

(SFSU periodicals holdings are also included in the Melvyl Periodicals database.)
