General Messages from the Instructor

in the readings or assignments, or any other important information
that needs to be communicated to all students.

Weekly Assignments
For the first two thirds of the semester,
there will be weekly assignments that will be posted on the course
web site and listed on the course Assignments
page. These assignments will be due
by email (to: brenner@smcccd.cc.ca.us)
each Tuesday , at which time the next assignment will be posted. See
Directions for Completing &
Submitting Assignments.
Readings
All reading for the course is available on the course web site.
See the Text-Readings page. Each week's
reading is also listed on each week's assignment.
Online Discussions
Online discussions will be assigned
approximately every 2-3 weeks throughout the semester. Students are
expected to actively participate in these discussions. A minimum of
one initial response to a discussion question and one reply to
another student's comments is expected. See Directions
for Using the LSCI 105 Discussion Board.
Team Project
A team project will build on the first 8 weekly assignments to
present a brief report on the results of a research project (that is
based on weekly assignments #1 - 8). Team Projects will be presented
October 19.
Final Project
See the Student Projects page for a description, guideline and examples of previous projects. The final project is due December 14.
