Anthrax: A Primer

Because anthrax spores have a long shelf-life and can be spread by aerosols, pulmonary anthrax has long been considered as a means of biological warfare. An outbreak of anthrax with at least 68 deaths in the former Soviet Union is now attributed to an explosion at a biological warfare research facility involving over 20 pounds of anthrax spores.
