Biography

Friendships with foreign exchange students in high school in Watsonville, California, led to a UC junior year abroad in Lund, Sweden, and an eventual degree in Scandinavian Languages and Literature, followed by a degree in TESL. From 1982-1984 I was a Fulbright lecturer at the University in Skopje, Yugoslavia. Upon return to the US, I taught at Bay Area community colleges, punctuated by a summer at Harvard Summer ESL and a winter at the United Nation's International Maritime Organization's university in Malmö, Sweden. I have been on the faculty at Skyline College since 1990.
