Field Trips are indicated in BLUE. You will be given time in class to arrange carpools. The class will meet at a designated place and time for each field trip. Be sure to wear layers of clothing as weather may change during the course of the afternoon. Comfortable walking or hiking shoes are critical. Please bring the following items to each field trip:
Water Bottle
Jacket
Field Guides: For Example, Audobon Society Field Guide to CA and National Geographic Field Guide to the Birds
Field Notebook and Pencil
Binoculars (Instructor will bring few for the class to share)
Camera (Great way to document the trip)
You should come prepared for a field trip EVERY THURSDAY as unpredictable natural events (stranded whales, sunny weather, blooming flowers, etc) may alter this schedule. On field days, we will be in the field for most of the class period. This means we may depart campus at the beginning of the scheduled lecture time, 12:35 and return by the end of the scheduled lab time, 4:50. Be prepared to be on the road and in the field from 12:35-4:50.
