Left: Cheek cells. Right: Lectin-bound check cells. What does this tell you about your cell membranes?
A normal cell.
Lectin with an indicator binds to the cell. The indicator is made visible by the addition of substrate.
Normal cells.
Lectin causes cells to agglutinate.
The presence of sugar A will prevent the lectin from binding to the cell surface.
