Alcohols There is a correlation between lipid solubility and diffusion across the membrane; as lipid solubility increases, diffusion increases (yellow bar). Molecules that diffuse faster than expected (points above yellow bar) are relatively small and those that penetrate more slowly than expected (points below yellow bar) are relatively large.
