Having your work screened is an important part of the learning process. Student work is screened and critiqued in class and shown outside of class for special screening events. Student projects that are of high quality and are of interest to our viewers can be considered for broadcast on KCSM.

The new SPOTLIGHT film festival for high school students will present an excellent opportunity for young media makers to have their work screened and critiqued while competing for great prizes and a scholarship to CSM! The festival competition will play out over the course of a TV season in the form of a weekly specialty show that features each young director.

The CSM Media Festival began in 2007 and we plan to continue it as an annual event. The entire campus community is invited to tour our studio and take a look at the great video that our students make.

Screening events offer students the opportunity to get recognition for their creative work and feedback from industry professionals. Screenings can be held in KCSM studios, the campus theatre or other equipped facilities. Students are also encouraged to enter their work in festivals.
